Food on virgin flights

Can I find out what food they’ll be serving on mine and a friends flight please?
We have fussy eaters lol
You can find out what films they’re showing can’t you but I can’t remember how to find it

Play it safe and buy some sandwiches from Boots before you board. Food on planes isn't the best.

The food is a chicken slop, beef mush or vegetarian goo ! You can tell what animal it came from not by tasting it, but by reading the label.

flywith.virginatlantic/g...k-economy.html

I'm not fussy, so usually end up with more than my meal

You can also request a kids meal (think it's cheesy pasta) beforehand.

I don’t think the sample menu is current for the Gatwick Orlando route at the moment it’s chilli and rice or chicken in mushroom sauce with mashed potato

I don't think the sample menus on the Virgin website are current. Certainly the Upper Class one is what I was offered back in February - and the Upper Class menu normally changes every 3 months, so it's definitely out of date.

As a general rule, expect two meat options & one non-meat option in economy. The age-old joke of "Beef, Chicken or Fish" is not too far off!

I do agree with a previous post that some of the economy meals are just a gloopy mess. If the OP has fussy eaters in their party, always better to buy sandwiches in the terminal & take them onboard. At least the fillings in the sandwiches will resemble what it says on the packaging. Or, you could have an early brunch in an airport restaurant for a decent, freshly cooked meal, then take sandwiches / snacks onboard.

We flew out recently and the virgin menu was fine in my opinion. You aren't dining at a Michelin starred restaurant at the end of the day as some people seem to expect when flying economy. Lol.

We had the pork chili con carne and found it perfectly acceptable. Then an afternoon tea type thing later in the flight which was essentially a scone with clotted cream and jam. Again perfectly edible and acceptable.

We came last week and we had the choice of;

Pork Chilli & rice
Creamy Mushroom and mash
Pesto pasta
Plus ice lolly then sandwich and Cream & scone with Strawberry Jam.

The Chilli was nice!
