BA flights different airports

Just looking at BA flights And it only allows flights to MCO from Gatwick but the return is to Heathrow- anyone know why this is and if it will change so both inbound and outbound flights will be from the same airport? Thanks

I’ve had my gatwick flight cancelled, think it’s something to do with reduced flights to and from gatwick. My flight was on a Tuesday and I think that day has been axed. Try changing days and see if that helps.

I've just done a search on the BA website for those dates. There are 2 flights from Gatwick to MCO on 18th August and 2 flights from MCO to Gatwick on 3rd September.

It was an issue for us so we chose to book to fly to Tampa as it was from and back to Gatwick - it was also a bit cheaper when we booked.

Happy to drive from Tampa so for us it was more convenient and cheaper.

I also had this but went in to customise trip and put in Gatwick to Orlando and Orlando to Gatwick as my flight choice and have booked a fly drive going from and back to Gatwick for next August but the default in/out was from different London airports. Not ideal for us.

Around 6 weeks ago BA cancelled our inbound flight at the end of November MCO - LGW to a return to LHR.

They offered some alternatives. To cancel completely, to leave the outbound at LGW or change both to LHR. We don't fancy messing about with getting between LHR and LGW so we chose LHR in and out. Whether we get to use them is another matter.

There was no secret back in April when an (intentionally ?) leaked internal staff memo from the CEO suggested that BA may consolidate their London hub at LHR. Haven't seen that announced officially yet though beyond Dibbers posting their specific LGW cancellations.

Our flight LGW to TPA hasn't been changed yet - but who knows?

Mick

You can search for just Gatwick flights. That's what I did when I checked flights for the OP's dates. I didn't do Customise Trip. I just chose Gatwick as the UK airport and MCO as the US one.
