Barbados passport requirement

Hi all
Whilst I have seen the answer to this many times for travel to the US I just wanted to check for Barbados as booked for my Dad and really don't want him to have any stress at the airport! His passport will have 5 months left on his return to the UK from Barbados. The Government website says it just needs to be valid for duration of trip but I wanted to check if anyone had ever been refused travel. He will be travelling with Virgin Atlantic and has time to renew but doesn't want to if not needed.

I had a similar problem and rang the number on the Barbados government site. A lovely lady told me it wasn’t a problem. However this was some years ago so I would get in touch with their official people to check the current situation

Thanks so much - I tweeted Virgin Atlantic and they quoted the gov.uk website saying it needs to be valid for duration only but I will check the Barbados government site too.
