Also interested in this as we’re travelling with my autistic son who has a really limited diet.
Normally pop to boots and get him some plain cheese sandwiches for the plane but that’s not an option because we won’t be able to take them through pre clearance. |

i feel your pain
we are in exactly the same situation with a extremely fussy, sensory, autistic adult young man, we are paying a premium for business class and i can guarantee he will eat zero "plane food" we normally pop into boots or take our own sandwiches for him our only hope is that he will find something he likes in the lounge at the airport, could you maybe book into a lounge ? |

There really is very little after pre clearance. You can take food through as long as its not on the prohibited list, so no cheese, meets etc.

It’s hard work isn’t it. We’ve got 51st and green booked but it’s food for the plane that’s the main issue as he eats pretty much constantly but will only eat cheddar cheese, cheese and onion crisps from a blue packet, plain pasta, and certain types of chicken nugget. Occasionally some white bread IF he’s in the mood which is why plain cheese sandwiches is usually my fallback.
This is going to be difficult 😭 |

Apparently cheddar is allowed but I can’t find anywhere if that extends to a cheese sandwich or whether it has to be commercially packed and sealed cheese.
I can’t find anything in the guidance 🤷 The alternative is I take a giant block of cheese and just let him gnaw on that but I’d rather not if I can help it. |

We have a gluten and lactose free child travelling via Dublin so feel your pain in terms of food and pre-clearance.
