Nobody else can go to their prom. They can go together if they are in the same year group, but they can't take anyone else.

Foster DS1 refused to go to his last year. Foster DS2 is looking to be a prom-refuser this year. I'm pinning everything on DS to want to go to his, in 7 years time!

My daughters had a Garden Party when they left Primary School (it was actually held in the hall, but they went outside at the end, sang the school song and let of balloons).

Lots of people dressed up, but luckily both my girls wore their bridesmaid dresses from the 2 weddings the year before.

That sounds lovely! Thankfully my DS has a suit from a recent wedding we attended that fits perfectly and he wants to wear that so we didn't have to shell out on another outfit but the ticket itself and the share of the limo haven't exactly been cheap My first prom wasn't till I was 17 and was much less expensive

Their Garden Party was free and they even got a formal invitation sent to them through the post.

I didn't have a prom - we just left after exams!

I must admit I am looking forward to the Prom and seeing them all dressed up.

Awwww that sounds brilliant! Bet they love getting that in the post! And even better that it was free! This one has been £28 for the ticket and then £25 for the limo share 😳 This time next yr will be DS2's turn and then DD the year after! My prom was pretty much a big disco that was £5 a ticket, taxi there and back that cost about £5 per person and my dress at £20 (that was in a sale though &#128514 - am dreading the high school ones being even more expensive!
