Hotpot in slow cooker overnight or not

I usually do this and have it on for 8-9 hours so it's ready early evening. I want it ready for around 1pm though tomorrow as Mum is coming over and we eat earlier with her. I know the obvious solution is to make something else, but I'm busy with our pup and hotpot is so easy
Would you put it on at 11pm tonight and hope it's ok til 7am, or partly cook it this evening then turn it off and put it on again in the morning

Before I got mine with the timer I can set it to come on any time I just used to use a timer plug and it worked just fine

Does your slow cooker have low, medium and high settings or just one? If I forget to put ours on I put it at high for few hours and then turn it down. On saying that if you put it on at 7am if should be fine to eat at 1pm unless really big chunks of beef.

That's a good idea. DH has said he will turn it on at 12:30am as he lets our pup out for a wee so gets to bed later.
I hope I can trust him to remember as he is notoriously forgetful sometimes.
I'll be waking up at 3am to go down and check 😁

I always find it needs longer than I think. I like it well mushed down, although that doesn't make it sound very attractive 😂

Why not just cook it in the oven?
