Discovery Cove sun cream rubbish

We had a great day at Discovery Cove today!

Knew couldn’t use our own suncream and have to use there’s due to animal safety, we smothered it on 3 times, about every 2 hours, it’s so thick we all look like ghosts afterwards.

End of the day we all so burnt.

I was watching a vlog by Anni Stores ( I think Anni is a Dibber too) a couple of days ago and she got sun burnt too. She did exactly the same as you but mentions the day after that using their factor 30 is not compulsory and that it has happened to other visitors.

I always wear a rash vest for this reason. We spend so much more time in the water there and uncovered than we normally would. I don't think any sun cream would stop me burning for that amount of time in the Florida sun

I wore the wet suit last time. I found the rash vest and life jacket rubbed the cream off my shoulders and I ended up burnt.

I watched Anni’s video and it was her face that got burnt, that’s my worry.

My brother got burnt there a few years ago, he looked like he was wearing a white vest for the rest of the holiday
Last time I wore a rash vest and was fine

We have used our own sun lotion on our visits to Discovery cove after guest services confirmed it would be ok due to allergies.

I’m a redhead so I’m aware of how easily I burn, we normally use the Soltan Once and it’s great, works most of day and never get burnt.
I think this stuff was more like white paint then sun cream! Put plenty on but didn’t work very well and my nose actually blistered afterwards.

People saying on here you can use your own yet signs everywhere there saying you can’t as can effect the wildlife. So if everyone starts using their own what’s that going to do do wildlife?

We did have a great day there though.

DH, DS and DD2 can get away with using the supplied sun cream but myself and DD1 can’t.

We both have very sensitive skin and burn very easily. DD also suffers with eczema and psoriasis so we have to be careful with the sun cream she uses.

We have been to DC several times and they confirmed it was fine for us to use our own suncream.
