Berlin - Best Restaurants?

Myself and Mrs YT are heading off for a classic ‘mini break’ shortly, sans the kids

Any idea what the best restaurants are? I fancy a traditional German one if there are any which are not just a crappy tourist trap without decent food.

We are staying near the Hackesher Markt.

Danke!

Traditional German - Has to be Maximilians! Absolutely amazing food and service. It was full of Germans which we took to be a great sign. Recommend without a shadow of a doubt!

We had a lovely coffee in the Reichstag (you have to pre-book visit tickets). We also had a love drink in the Fernsehtrum tower (TV tower) in Alexanderplatz. That food looks gorgeous

Have a look at Das Lemke it's a brewery bar and restaurant doing traditional food, it is a couple of minutes walk from Hackesher Markt station, we had a good meal in there.

Was going to recommend visiting the Reichstag but see you already have that in hand. Also the Berlin wall memorial is and the east side gallery are worth a visit.

We love the Alt Berliner which is in Kurfürstendamm.
It’s a biersalon but they do good food and I love a green or red Berliner kindl weisse 😋

We also ate at Maximillians and would recommend it. Berlin is a fantastic city and very walkable, I hope you both have a lovely time.

My first proper meal when I visited Berlin was at 'Berliner Kartoffelhaus', 5 minutes away from the Berlin Cathedral. Lots of potato variants that you can have with what you choose. I had a delicious schnitzel with potato salad. So, so good!
