Glasgow Airport

We arrived at Glasgow airport 25th June at 4am for a 6:50 flight to Alicante. We were checked in 10 minutes and security was about 20 minutes. There were only about 10 people in the fast track queue. We didn't have fast track and wouldn't have needed it. This was day after schools broke up for holidays.

We are here now, having left on Tuesday last week (28th). Our flight to Heathrow was at 8.05 with BA. We got to the airport just before 5. The check-in line looked long - but we have priority checkin so didn’t wait, but it appeared to be moving quite quickly. 9 adults in three separate bookings took us around 40 minutes to get everyone checked in.
We also had priority security purchased for 5am but was about 5.40 when we got there. Security line wasn’t too bad actually and I exepcted much worse for being the start of the school holidays.

From arriving at the airport to sitting in Starbucks took us just over an hour and that was with priority check in and priority security. The airport was very busy, but seemed to get a bit quieter around 7am when we moved up to the gate.

Airports always busy first thing with loads of flights from 6am. Then it settles down a bit once all the holiday flights are away.

That’s why I was delighted with my 9:20 departure on the 14th. Sadly that got cancelled on Friday and they couldn’t fit 10 of us on the 8:05 flight so we’ll be on the 7:00 flight now.

I was still planning on getting to airport for 5am. You think that may be tight ? We have priority security but not check in.
