Cornwall with kids
Any recommendations on places to stay?
We are a family of 4... 2 x adults, 1 x 5yr old and 1 x 1yr old. We are looking to go down to Cornwall / South West England for 4 nights during the summer holidays and wondering where the best location / hotels would be. We would like to be close (walking distance) to the beach. Doesn't have to be a holiday park, but family friendly hotel or even unique airbnb. Thanks in advance

I would (with just a little bias), suggest Falmouth.
Swanpool Beach is a cove, sheltered, shallow, no currents and when the tide is out, great for rock pooling. The Swanpool behind it has Swans, Ducks etc. You can hire out kayaks etc. The town is packed with Restaurants, Pasty Shops, Gelato outlets, a superb Fish and Chippy.. in short a vast surplus of eateries. It has quay and a pier, providing Boat trips up the River to Truro, across to St Mawes (lovely place) and around to the Helford. It is easy to drive into and out of. It has a Castle.. a good one. It is just 3 miles from my favourite place in Cornwall.. the Kennel Vale Gunpowder Factory! There is a guy called CFB who might even buy you a pint! Any more detail and you only need ask! Swanpool Beach. Pendennis Castle St Mawes. Kennel Vale Gunpowder Factory.
