British Airways are probably one of the worst airlines out there today that isnt a budget carrier.

Been run like an absolute circus for a few years now, which is no surprise when you look at the CEO's previous experience.

Well done for the staff taking a stand. Theres a reason why they are really up against it as it is, because they treated their employees with utter distain during the pandemic. Amazingly, none who were let go appear to want to go back. I wonder why.

BA may have treated some with distainbut I also know some employees who stayed at home for over a year on full furlough pay and happily returned to work when flying restarted.

Anyone who had a pay cut should have their pay reinstated, no argument.

there are far less union members these days and the hoops that need to be jumped are massive so strikes are less likely across most sectors.

Those that aren't in a union will never be able to challenge employers over pay and conditions effectively so could be losing out massively.

Strike action is the last resort when everything else has been tried.

I fear we are in for a nerve wracking time for whoever you fly with and from whichever airport. Im not sure I would change my arrangements at this stage

I see mention of terminal 5. I am flying with American Airlines does it mean I should be ok or would they use the ba ground staff due to some code sharing they have?

Do those who are much more informed than I think that other airlines may also strike over their pay and conditions? We are flying VA on 28th July, however I am not aware of how their workforce has been treated in recent years and whether there is the same dissatisfaction that BA staff appear to have….?

Flying on the 22nd with BA from Heathrow to New York. It’s so stressful.🙈
