Ha ha - To be honest, there’s not much value left in Disney. Nothing against the characters, just paying $60 + tax + tip for a self service buffet is far too much for my wallet. Didn’t they knock off $20 per per adult when the characters stayed away?

For those of us that enjoy character meals either ourselves or vicariously through our children the value is not in the food it’s in the experience and the memories that are priceless.
I’m sure there are things you may think are value for money that I wouldn’t too.

I recently went to Cinderella’s Royal Table for dinner, it used to be extortionate but I thought the price without characters was reasonable. I wanted to eat in the castle and I don’t like talking characters so it worked for me. I also thought ‘Ohana was a good value breakfast without characters, which I believe didn’t go round the tables anyway.

But elsewhere, I quite enjoy having the odd character meal and know that I am paying for the experience not just the food.

The characters did go round the tables in ‘Ohana previously. We met Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto.

Oh really, I stand corrected. I thought you lined up to meet them before you sat down for some reason.

I miss Crystal Palace breakfast, aside from the characters this used to be one of the best breakfasts in MK

I think over the years they varied it with Stitch - sometimes you met him before going in, sometimes he came around. But the others always came around. And there was a little ‘procession’ for kids at some point too, walking round the restaurant with coconut shells and so on. It wasn’t a quiet experience!

We look at it as a great way to meet and interact with characters without queuing or paying for Genie plus. We also get fed and a rest in a/c. We are doing Chef Mickeys on our 2nd day. We have 4 children in our group,
In 2003 we were the last family still in the restaurant at closing, there were 9 of us, we were asked if we wanted photos with all the characters together. Some of our favourite photos.
