Splash Mountain news

So with the announcement today that Splash Mountain will reopen as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024, what do we all think? And when do you all think it’ll close, since that hasn’t been announced yet? I’m hoping to get a few last rides of Splash Mountain as the original theming on my trip in September, so fingers crossed it’s still open. I’m really excited to see what they’ll do with the theming, but it’s a shame that Splash Mountain won’t be a “mountain” anymore, and I wish Tiana had got her own ride in her own right from the beginning, she’s one of my favourite princessses!

This change was announced pre covid. It's just covid put it on the back burner. A small part of me is a bit sad about it as I love the music but ultimately it's just a ride, so no real big deal.

Like the idea of the theme but don’t like the name. Everyone will still call it Splash Mountain.

I’m very excited for it. I’ve been sickened by some of the comments I’ve read about it from Americans on social media though.

It's been badly in need of a re-furb for ages, not sure it's new guise is going to have the same catchy song & TBH my only "issue" is the reason for the "re-brand", in a couple of years someone will find Princess & the frog offensive & away we go again ...

I doubt it. Black people have found song of the south offensive for a long time it’s just taken this long for Disney to give a hoot.

Oh I know it was announced before covid, I meant the name had been announced today & the 2024 reopening, sorry if that wasn’t quite clear!

Same, I’ve seen so many vile comments on instagram today. So disheartening Tiana is one of my favourites and she absolutely deserves her own ride! I wish it was one that was fully hers as I think people will always call it Splash Mountain. I wish they’d invested in a whole new ride for her, and still done a refurb on Splash Mountain and dismantled its problematic history and updated it, with a new and improved frontierland theme
