Food declaration
Hi,
We’re taking a few of the squash concentrates when we go in august and maybe some cereal bars for the room. Where do we declare these when we arrive? Do we need to? They’ll be in the hold luggage. Thanks. |

First of all can I caveat my reply because it will always generate a different view.
I've not seen a blue and white customs form going into MCO for maybe 6 years (nor into TPA in April). That's not to say they've been abolished through the USA as I'm sure I'll be reminded. Also the Automated Passport Kiosks were removed from MCO between April and Nov 2018. Therefore my carefully considered response is that going into MCO there may not be any official place to declare food but in our experience the IO will ask. Mick PS Squash is fine by the way but you should still declare it

I’m going to take some Yorkshire tea bags.
I don’t recall anyone asking me about food at LAX in Feb.🤔 But I didn’t have any with me. |

Tea bags are fine as well but still subject to declaration.
You might get the usual response that I get when declaring coffee - "you can get that stuff here sir" Mick

We do occasionally walk along the International aisle in Walmart and are amazed at the cost of imported UK stuff.
We did see a guy in Perkins spreading Marmite on his breakfast toast though. Marmite is safe to take as it's yeast but it does figure on the official customs list. Mick

When I went on my solo trips in 2018 and 2019 I took cereal bars in my suitcase. No one asked me about food. But I got a griling about where I was staying, why I was on my own, and how much money I had.

I always take my usual tea, coffee and squash concentrate.
I was thinking of taking a couple of boxes of cereal too this time. I'm not sure that's OK though 🤔 |
