my step-daughter is moving into her first flat on her own tomorrow (rented)

the management company have "sold" her insurance for £14 a month. she asked her colleagues and they all said that was a good price

i have had a quick look and i can get quotes around £50 for the year

either i am missing something or the management company are having a laugh

My son came to mine a couple of years ago and i happen to have my house insurance bill in and he said wow mum your insurance is expensive (it was about £150) i said its not too bad for the year, he said FOR A YEAR ! he was paying £75 a MONTH and had been paying that for about 7 years he said he got it when he took the mortgage out with the bank ... Happy to say he changed ASAP and saved himself a fortune.. He just didnt know he was paying over the odds and thought everyone paid about the same.. Bless him, he was so pleased i left my bill out..
Good job you are looking out for her... Kids dont know the usual prices of things like this...

You can get Renters Insurance which covers just your own Personal Possessions or Contents Insurance. Natwest do it. I guess most banks will do it too along with other Insurance companies and don't forget they're not always on Comparison sites. I've seen many quotes from £4 a month.
