Devon/Cornwall weather now

Hi all,

We are heading to Newton Abbot tomorrow for 3 nights and then onto Perranporth for 7. The weather forecast is awful!

The weather app is currently saying 38mph winds lasting into tomorrow, we need to put a tent up . Just wondering if anyone from the area could give me an update please? I am wondering if I am better waiting and delaying the holiday by a day and travel Sunday instead.

I’m in Teignmouth - few miles away - it’s pretty windy here, not as bad as I was expecting but I’ve heard some trees have come down in newton abbot. It’s set to be pretty bad until lunch tomorrow.

We have family in perranporth and are heading there in ten days

Just text my aunt for you. They live overlooking the beach. She says “It's a tad WINDY, raining, it's more like January than August! Except for temperature and humidity”

I’m Guessing capital letters for wind mean it is a bit gusty!

We're off to Pensilva on Sunday to stay with family, had loads of stuff planed and beach days and looks like a total washout! We were down there in April & May for a few weekends when my mother in law passed away and the weather was glorious, the one week we go down and can actually enjoy it and its rubbish! But will have some precious family time which is so needed.

My sister was due to go to boardmasters in Newquay (camping) it was cancelled for safety reasons. My family in north Devon say it’s been very wet and windy all day.

We are in Newquay on holiday. Yes it’s wet and windy and not ideal for putting up a tent but it’s not as bad as what I was expecting. Then again, I’m from West Yorkshire. It’s typical weather for me.😏

I’m in Exeter and a local children’s summer camp has sent this weeks children home tonight instead of tomorrow as they are expecting it to be bad overnight - last night wasn’t pleasant, but it’s been ok here (showers and cloudy but nothing more all day), but the wind has started to pick up in the last half an hour or so x

I'm just outside newton abbot and it's pretty windy but I've seen it lot worse. Hmm maybe it's getting worse as had to turn the volume up on the TV.
The weekend is supposed to be better. Which part of newton abbot will you be camping in?

I am in Truro right now and it has been very wet and windy this evening but has stopped raining at the moment and the wind has dropped a lot!
