Davy Crockett Ranch Building work

Just a quick heads-up to anyone who has booked a stay or looking to book a stay at the Davy Crockett Ranch.

There is currently a massive new area of building works going in immediately adjacent to and encroaching into the ranch, there is a contra-flow in operation on the road from reception and lots of heavy machinery in use including an enormous piling rig which operates till after 11pm:angry:

Children's play area next to the main buildings is horded off, there is a new building being built opposite the eatery which looks to be nearing completion. The shop has scaffolding all over it t present as well. of the 2 car parks by the shop one is closed and being built on the other is routinely filled with builders/workers cars and vans so very limited spaces.


Take ear-plugs is my advice... or go else where.

I was disappointing that Disney travel company didn't mention any of the building work when I booked a couple of months ago.

Oh no that's not good WDW would usually tell people about building work so it's a shame DLP hasn't - hopefully it'll be over pretty quick!

I disagree about WDW notifying people - there are a lot of people booked into Wilderness Lodge trying to find out about proposed building works who are not getting any information out of them!

Oh Noooooo! I've read recent reviews complaining about building work & thought that most of it was related to Villages Nature and not within DCR!

We've stayed at DCR previously & it's a good alternative to an expensive family room or 2 rooms in the hotels. Seeing as I only booked in January, I had limited choice with their being 5 of us. There was no mention of any work this year when I booked, only for 2016 (I believe the pool is being closed for some of 2016 for renovation work)

I was rather hoping that they facilities for breakfast may be built next year, rather than the collection huts.

We don't go until August but I'm not convinced that they will be finished by then going by your experience, oh dear

it looks like the new village is being built along the right hand side of the access road from reception to the accommodation areas. and backing onto the Moccasin trail area. there are also large buildings opposite the reception gate but unsure if these are part of the new village or not. As I booked only about 2 months ago I would have expected a mention of it on the website or during the booking process as a minimum. Accommodation was very good ignoring the noise, if going soon pack the DEET as the mossies are out in force...

Do we know if the horse riding is still running?

As looking to book for 2 weeks time, and I mentioned to my little girl she could go on a horse like her older cousin did last year, hope it is running.

The only horse I saw was pulling the distbin cart, best ring and check but I am not hopeful tbh.
