The scary thing is we are saying it’s not reality but it could become reality 😱

If we're talking about politicians, then people like Emma Thompson's character already exist. So it's already reality. I believe other places on the web have equated her character to Nigel Farage, for example.

If you mean the other stuff in the show, then maybe some of it could become reality, sure. Or something similar to it. In some cases (eg. America bombing China's island) I really hope not!

Well when they have Trump in charge anything’s possible 😉

DH and I have watched the first two episodes and we loved it!

Thought it was a bit different and cleverly done and that including events that could happen based on current times was clever (like Trump getting a 2nd term). Also how weird would it be if they have correctly predicted the timing of this and the queens death.

Really piqued our interest and looking forward to next week.

Again, I had mixed feelings about the second episode. Bits of it were interesting, but I found a reasonable proportion of it a bit boring. It feels a little soap-opera-y.

I was disappointed that the big cliffhanger at the end of the last episode didn't have a bigger impact this episode because, it seems, the Chinese simply capitulated. I know there's a personal impact to the family regarding Edith and the fact that she will die sooner rather than later, but that seems to be it. It felt a bit of a let down.

I watched the first episode last night and thought it was very good. It’s scary, as I tend to agree with one of the characters when he says we are “devolving”
Initially, what hooked me in was Emma Thompson’s characters reply on Question Time.
It has a great cast and if the writing keeps up to the standard of the first episode, I’ll be watching.

I enjoyed it but not as much as first episode and agree they could’ve done follow on from end of first episode better , the banks going under was scary... think northern rock but more northern mountain lol... thing is it could be real although hopefully not so gets you thinking.

Anyone still watching this? We are and loving it. For me it’s a bit different than a lot of TV offerings. Was shocked by tonight’s episode though and although I’m aware this happens now (and have even been on a Disney cruise that rescued illegal immigrants whose boat was made of oil drums) it brought it home. Very well written and emotive.

I watched some of last nights episode. I missed last weeks.

It's ok, but it's not great. Some of the ideas thrown in to the programme are interesting but I find they are not sufficiently followed through. The rest merely seems like a soap opera regarding an extended family and their relationships and issues.

I'm still enjoying it. I find it almost horrifyingly close to what could happen if we keep heading the way we are. And there's a good amount of British "getting on with it", despite the word turning to ≈≈≈≈≈≈ around them.

The neverending rain in the last episode was perfectly timed as it basically hasn't stopped raining here for 3 days now!
