Bilbao
Hi
Just a heads up that Bilbao in Spain is another airport to look out for with Boomerang flights, I just got an amazing deal I had to share. It's not to Florida as we had other places we wanted to visit this year (into Atlanta for Tennessee and then a cruise from Texas, flying home from Houston) but other options could pop up from there to Miami etc so it's worth checking Bilbao along with the usuals like Oslo, Copenhagen etc. We paid £262 per person for 2 adults/2 teens for: 17 Aug BIO - LHR - ATL 28 Aug IAH - LHR 30 Aug LHR - BIO These are all BA flights booked through AA's European website, following the link from a Google Flights Search. I was billed in Euros but I have a Halifax Clarity card so I don't get charged any fees. The same flights are also on Kayak. We also managed to book AVIOS reward flights LHR-BIO for the day beforehand for just £17 pp. I'm quite happy for a night in Spain with some yummy tapas and the kids love the adventure of it all. Thanks, I hope this makes people who are fretting about price feel more confident about what amazing deals can come up to the US. Those were the first really cheap Boomerangs I'd seen in the last month with Atlanta/Texas airports, only the Florida ones were coming up with deals before this.
We were prepared to wait until January if we had to, we didn't want to pay more than £300 pp for a Boomerang when we know that in-directs will drop like a stone and can be had for around £400. Just for comparison, the same Atlanta and Houston flights with BA are £925 direct from London... |

Unfortunatley Mco from Bilbao is £700 although I might have to price up to a few American airports and multi city it...

so, I was wondering. If there is nothing in the Christmas sale, then what are the prices generally like after Christmas? Jan / Feb time for example?

Don't think anyone has mentioned Orbitz for a while. Always a site to check before booking. I have just booked Easter school hols to Atlanta for $774 (£500pp) cheapest on Kayak £778pp
For August to give you an idea I just entered random dates 18th-29th MAN~Daytona Orbitz = $972 (£631) Expedia = £938 for exactly same flights. They are not always cheaper but I have used them for years now, sometimes pay in $ what it costs in £'s on UK sites, once when it was £2/£1 which made my flights half price that trip. Always use a fee free credit card for best price.
