Our First Ever Visit to DLP

We've booked to stay at the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights from 30th September to help us celebrate our daughters 30th birthday on the 1st October.
We've booked a deluxe room so have access to the D Lounge for our breakfasts and afternoon tea/drinks during the day.
Where would you DLP experts recommend for a meal to celebrate her birthday? I know we can book the hotel restaurants for dinner, but I think the cheapest one is 100 euros per head for the Royal Banquet, and I'm not really sure if it's worth that?
Any help and advice on all things DLP would be greatly appreciated, as I say we've never been before and want to make our first visit a very memorable one.
We've been to Florida 5 times now and really love it there, so just thought we'd try something a little bit different this year, but still visiting somewhere within the Disney bubble to celebrate.

I liked the Steakhouse in the village and think it would be nice for a celebration meal.

If you’re staying at the DLH hotel then having a character dinner there to celebrate would be great, assuming she likes the characters. It’s interesting you commented on the price because I think it’s extortionate too but if you’re already staying there then assuming there’s budget for it!

There’s lot of other good places to celebrate. Walt’s is more low key but fine dining (for Disney) in a nice setting. There is also the table service restaurant at the Marvel Hotel.

when we stopped in the DLH last, it was worth it for us to buy the dining plan as we did the big three expensive restaurants.

I have no idea if this is still cost effective following the refurb and rejig of meal plans.

Walts is beautiful and would be my choice for a celebration.

If the Royal Banquet is the princess one my wife took my daughter there when she was about 5, I did not go as we could not afford it at the time but they loved it far better than CRT which I did go to and thought dreadful.

I think the Royal Banquet is just a buffet with Mickey and friends, rather than the Princesses. I don't think it's worth paying 100 euros each for a buffet, when you can get a nice table service meal for half this price?

I've been trying to make a reservation at Walts this morning. It all appears fine until I try to confirm the booking and then it just keeps coming up with the message 'Oops there's been an error, please try again'. Has anybody else experienced this problem and know the way around it?

Are you using the app? I've had this issue before. Try using the website instead. What date are you booking for?
