Getting there.

Iím hoping to do a trip in summer 25, it will be myself and two children. Iíve been before but this will be the first time travelling alone with the kids. Which would be the best way of getting there? I donít want to drive so either flying or train, a little nervous for either so looking to see which people think would be the easiest/most straightforward.

Where are you travelling from?

I have flown and done Eurostar, depends which is cheaper and easier to get to.

If you are flying, Charles de Gaulle is the nearest airport but wonít always be the cheapest flights. We have always booked a transfer from the airport with BS Transports. They meet you in arrivals and take you to your hotel. I would say with children this will be the easiest option even if not the cheapest.

I have heard some people say BS Transports didnít always have child seats. There are other transfer firms you could try - Ezyshuttle is popular on here.

Alternatively you can get the Eurostar. Prices vary wildly so book as early as you can. You will either need to get the train to Lille and change for Marne la Vallee, or get a train to Paris itself (Gare du Nord) and then overland train to Marne la Vallee. Both easy enough and there are lots of YouTube videos showing you exactly where to go and what to do.

When you get to Marne la Vallee station the onsite hotels are max 15 minutes wak.

I would also say it depends where youíre going from. As we are from the north of England we always fly. Itís such a short flight and is much more convenient for us rather than getting the train down to London and then the Eurostar. If you live near London Eurostar might be a better option

Interested in this thread as we are also from the north and considering Eurostar as we are on the east coast main line, so arrive KX easy walk over road to St Pancras and prices not bad at moment. Just need to have trains running for us to get down to KX!
But taken flights to Paris for DLP couple of times before. Anyone know if there is much difference in arriving at ORY airport if we were to take flying route?

Agree it depends where youíre travelling from. Weíre 20 minutes on the train from Gatwick so always hop on the easyJet to CDG and get a private transfer.

We're East Yorkshire. Been to DLP 3 times via Eurostar. Usual routine for us is York to KX on the Sunday. Premier Inn Euston Road, Eurostar on the Monday morning. Onsite hotel 4 nights, Eurostar back Friday afternoon, KX to York on the Friday night.
Haven't considered flights previously as the train combo has usually come out best value for us.

Thanks for the replies. Iím about an hour from the local airport or an hour into London so much the same either way. Just not sure which way will be easiest when doing it alone.

To be honest I would just look at the prices. There are pluses and minuses either way.

We have recently booked Eurostar for our trip this month - there was a special offer of £35 each way. They might run that offer again (it always used to be £29 for years).

Sounds an ideal itinerary Bondy
We canít go down day before though so just bit nervous of train down same morning as catching Eurostar! Think it might have to be plane again this timeÖ
