Alamo
Hi everyone,
Arrived on Friday and picked up car from Alamo at MCO, all good no problems at all. The car we got is a Cherokee and is running fine but it has flashed up it needs an oil change, normally wouldn't even think about this, I know some hire cars aren't kept that well, but I'm driving to Clearwater on Saturday. Whilst I appreciate Clearwater isn't that far it is still far enough, do you think I should call or take the the car to an Alamo and talk to them ? If I did decide to take it, would I need to go back to MCO or can I take it somewhere in Orlando or as we are checking in at RPR on Thursday, have they got an Alamo desk there? hopefully that makes sense! My decision over what to do would be based on the Mileage.
If it is under 5000 Miles I would swap it out If it is coming up to 10000 Miles I would inore it as thats probably the service indicator warning.

In that case I wouldn't bother.

If you decide to take it back to anywhere other than MCO you are unlikely to be a choice of vehicles to drive off in.

This happened to us and we took it to the Alamo car care centre at Disney (not being as clued up on cars as Mr T.M )
They quickly took it away and when they brought it back no oil light on. Seemed pretty quick for them to have changed the oil - perhaps it just needed a top up. If I recall correctly it was just under 15k miles on the clock. We were away again in 10 mins Edited at 03:24 PM. Reason: typo |

I would say in most cases it's their equivalent of the service interval light that just hasn't been reset.
Most cars you reset it by various controls and or the pedals in the car. Always worth a Google to get the owners manual up.
