Disney fairytale weddings
Has anyone dealt with them recently and has anyone recently got married offsite but had a meal there afterwards?
I have been planning on getting married during our next holiday but since booking up for next April everything I was told previously seems to have changed. I had been considering a church wedding (I know a religious wedding isn't possible onsite and needs to be in a church) and heading back to Disney for dinner and fireworks on grand yacht 1. I was previously told as long as I was at a resort I could wear my dress but not in the parks. But now I have been told I cannot wear my dress onsite at all and would need to either change or go to a privately owned restaurant at Disney springs. The only option to wear my dress onsite is to have a wishes package at a minimum of $12000 for reception only but there is only 8 of us going! An escape package is only possible if the ceremony is onsite too. I have just put a deposit on a £12000 holiday to be told what I had planned isn't possible now. Is this right? I feel so disappointed 😕 |

You can eat in any restaurant in your dress apart from the park. Brides do that all the time.

In the U.K. you are not allowed to include anything religious in a non church location, but that doesn't apply in the US. I had a Church Reverand and a Christian ceremony for my Disney wedding if that is any help?

Thanks for replying. This was what I was told before I booked but after speaking to Disney fairy tale weddings they have told me it is no longer allowed. I'd need to do a wishes package for reception only. I've now been looking into the four seasons resort but I'm still unsure. I feel I have lost my excitement.
It is a catholic wedding so this must be in a Catholic Church. I am happy with the church it's just finding how to make the rest of our day special too. |

I'm getting married in Orlando (non Disney wedding) and we have booked a late lunch at chef mickeys and a late dinner at planet Hollywood. When I booked them I told them it was our wedding day and I'm going to be wearing a full wedding dress and was told it was fine no problem. I was wished happy wedding planning etc x

Maybe if I contact the hotel direct I will be told different then? It does seem crazy they expect us to spend that for dinner and a view of the fireworks for 8 of us. I really would like to keep my dress on all day so I might call again and see if it is at all possible before I go ahead with anywhere else. Thanks for your help

Which bit did you ask Disney weddings about the Catholic ceremony or the wedding meal?

You can't have a Wishes wedding for 8 guests anyway minimum is 20.

It was only the meal. The catholic cermony would need to be in the church. I was just enquiring where I could go afterwards as I was hoping to keep my dress on for the whole day.
I thought this too but as long as I spent the minimum this was the only package which I could arrange a meal/reception. The girl was really helpful, I just felt it was a bit excessive for how few of us were going to be there. |
