What's happening with 2019 availability?

I've been in touch with my Travel Agent (Helen @ Travel Counsellors) and done my own research - and I've noticed that for the UK, there seems to be very little/if any Delux/Deluxe Villa availability for anywhere in 2019.

Helen did mention that Disney, this year, are only releasing Deluxe Villa availability 330 days out due to getting burned last year by overbooking substantially and moving many people to more expensive Deluxe Resort hotels; so you can't even get a quote 330 days out now for the likes of SSR - and if you do get one, it's a guess at best from your TA.

But... the Deluxe Hotels too? I've been checking the Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn

None of them seem to have standard rooms available for any two week span in 2019... at all. Most of them are showing only Club Level.

Have Disney not released all of their inventory yet? What's going on...?

I have booked AKL for may 19, but keep checking several times a day for standard room availability at wilderness lodge. We arrive on Friday 17th may and there is availability for the Tuesday onwards only. The virgin holidays rep said that they anticipate more standard rooms being made available at 11 months before. Fingers crossed!

Yep, is what I was told too.

I wanted SSR 2BR at first; but there's no availability at all from March-April 12th, which is what Disney will currently quote for. Very annoying!

Ideally I want the first 2 weeks of April, or September. Not seeing anything that suits our group at the moment though

I wish I knew the answer too - it's very frustrating especially considering this is the first time we've considered staying at a deluxe hotel.

Consider renting DVC points if getting no luck cash.

Feel your pain!

We've booked POR for next October, after very little choice being available as yet for a family of five!

Not overly keen on the Cabins at Fort Wilderness (or suite at All Stars and paying upgrade to QSDP). Our only options for more space being given right now.

We've currently decided to hold on with POR for now then consider changing if more options become available later. At least we have the $200 gift card and will keep that.

Incidentally, we've had to book water view at POR as well, as no standard rooms available.
I wasn't interested in paying extra for any 'view' as the curtains are generally kept closed as the 'view' is across a public corridor.

We are the same in that we wanted a 1 bedroom villa at okw/ssr for Oct 19. We’ve ended up booking two rooms at POFQ instead. We have managed to book standard rooms and upgraded to ddp. I’m actually really looking forward to the change!

Standard rooms at BC were still available for my dates 26th October as of yesterday. Not much for other resorts. AKL is not an option for us as we are 5.

Last week I booked Beach Club Garden View room for 10 nights September 16th to 26th. At the time standard rooms were available too. Neither are available now for my dates though.
