Mobile phone use in Orlando, sorry I am thick.
Ok,having read all the numerous posts about sims etc etc ,I thought I had cracked it,untill team meeting this afternoon about the tens forthcoming trip, now,it’s simple,I think,we needx2 phones to contact each other over there in August,as basically split into x2 groups of 5.i thought my nephew was sorted as he has a phone with EE max plan on,but he reckons he cannot phone me as ,doesn’t count in usa to phone me in usa? Only if he is phoning home? Is he correct, if so,what is the best advice please, we have plenty of unused phones, also unlocked, but now confused by this, thanks, bondy.

As long as it is a UK mobile there is no charge for calling or texting from phone with EE Max Plan to a non EE phone. The only charge is if you phone a USA mobile or USA landline.

I’m confused - can you not just use the free wi fi in the parks and contact each other over WhatsApp?
Sorry if there was context to this that I’m not aware of 🙈 |

You can do this in the parks but if you split up at say the Outlets or 2 cars travelling to somewhere not always free wifi available. Also in some parks you can not always pick up wifi so back-up required. Even when I split up from DH at shops we always had a time and place agreed incase problem with either text or wi-fi as my phone had a mind of its own !

We use our uk phone, turn on the flight only mode and then the wifi. We make calls through messenger when necessary over wifi. No need for special phone plans etc. Very easy. Even I, who is not good with tech, can do it
