New kitchen started *Updated*
So yesterday our kitchen was ripped out , I said I would post a few pictures of the developments.
So far here are the before and the current view . Plasterer is coming today 😲 we knew what was going to happen with these wall tiles taking half the wall off lol. We chose the kitchen when we moved in to the house brand new in 2005. Before Edited at 04:29 PM. |

Coming along nicely. Always good to see the room basically empty and the work underway.
Those walls will skim nicely and then the work can start for the new units. Are you changing the sockets for brushed aluminium?

Tom the washing machine is being moved to the right of the new sink, do they renew all pipe work, waste pipes etc and re route it as the machine will be slightly further from the waste pipe etc where it was, that’s one thing that’s worrying me a bit lol.

I thought so. Don't fall into the trap we did!
We decided we wanted them for the kitchen so I told my mate to get them. He got the ones with black inserts. However the lounge has white inserts. Now I have to change them!

Insist on new pipe work. Waste pipe costs pence and it's always best to get new rather than fiddling with joints where the inner gasket may have degraded over time and not form a tight push seal.
Plus the old pipes will stink! I served my time on new builds so we were taught never make do and mend - sling it out and replace with new.

Thanks for that tip will do that.
Your sockets look nice, have just old white ones elsewhere , I guess with this being s separate room it will be ok.
