First Morning, Advice Needed!

Hi Guys, I'm almost at the 180 day mark for booking dining reservations and this issue is bugging me.

So because of Thomas Cook, our flights out are quite crappy. We originally had TC flights booked but have rebooked at the only affordable option which is a late indirect flights.

We land in Orlando at 22:30 local time.

My question is...

Usually I know I would be awake at 4am ready to hit Magic Kingdom. So I was going to book a Crystal Palace breakfast. My partner really wants to do this and it's the only morning we have planned in Magic Kingdom.

I know it's a personal thing and it's subjective but has anyone does this? How tired are we going to be? Walking Dead tired or just a few bags under the eyes?

He wants me to book it, and then we can go and nap in the afternoon. We are staying on site at Port Orleans.

I've never flown indirect and never landed late so I have no idea how hideous this is going to be.

Any advice/experiences much appreciated!
Steph x

We’ve flown indirect a few times, getting to Disney anywhere between 8pm and 1am. We set the alarm for 8 and just about make opening or just after.

There’s no way we would make a pre park opening breakfast. How about a late breakfast? Get there for opening and Crystal Palace at about 10.30/10.45.

We usually wake up very early on the first morning so would have no problem with the early breakfast. However we have usually arrived a lot earlier than 2230 and have had time to settle.

We usually wake up very early on the first morning too and been to Crystal Palace for breakfast which was amazing! I'm sure the late flight won't make much difference coz you will be so excited!

You might not get to bed until gone midnight, 1am even. I wouldn’t book an early breakfast, if you want to do it that day I would also go for the 10am or later slots.

I'd go with what Claudette and Macadoo suggest and book a later breakfast slot. I think you will be up early on your first day regardless of the late flight but I think you will thank yourself for not having the stress and worry about whether you will make it for the ADR and then be shattered for the rest of the day.

That and the fact that on my first day as soon as I enter MK I want to be going on the rides and would be far too impatient to sit down and enjoy a meal even if it was pre-opening!

I'd book it.
I reckon you'll be fine, I wouldn't even expect you to need a nap (from my experience).

We’ve been on indirect flights before too. The year we stopped at YC we had been travelling for over 24 hours and we were totally exhausted by the time we left the airport on DME to get to the resort. By the time we actually got to the room it was the early hours of the next morning. We were beyond tired at that point and sleep was needed so badly. We slept until 8am on and off and then went out about 09:30 am. Weather has disrupted flights( bad storms and lightning at Atlanta) and it took all day to wake up and enjoy the peace. I wouldn’t book an early breakfast for the day immediately after travel via another airport you don’t know what could happen on your travel day until it actually happens The airport staff were great and kept us well informed it just took much longer for the storms to pass than expected. Instead plan a slightly earlier lunch somewhere closer to your resort.

The problem with asking this sort of question on here is that you get both answers which doesn't actually help you. Only you know how easily tired you get, how you generally manage on little sleep etc so only you can make the decision. Actually this could apply to a lot of questions asked on here!
