-40to+40 in 4 months Thailand Day 3 Bangkok

Day 3 - sunday.

Well sunday is supposed to be a day of rest isnt it?

So today we did just that - nothing much!

We spent most of the day round the pool. Andy really doesnt like just lying around in the heat so he was more than happy to do the runs back and forth to the lounge for cold drinks - they charged to deliver if ordered around the pool but they were free in the lounge! Around 4pm Andy had had enough of the heat so he went up to the room and I spent an hour in the gym.

Again - after some evening snacks in the lounge and a couple of cocktails or wine we went off to the nightmakret. Boy it was hot again tonight. The night market was about a 15 minute walk from out hotel - just bought the 2 bottles of water on the way there!

We handt realised that they would close the road off for the market - it was a dual carriage way and about a mile long so you can image it was quite busy. There was a stage and a girl singing and then after a dancing troupe but it wasnt really that good!

There was also the girls sitting outside the clubs - the street was very well controlled with security at each end. We weren't hassled at all but any groups or single men were ushered towards the girls straight away. Again due to my job I have a keen interest in whats going on but I didn't see anything particularly untoward going on and all the girls looked to be over age.

We ate bits and pieces as we went along - we jut pointed at what we thought looked interesting.
We found a stall doing nooldes/pad thai so we asked for a plate of “not too spicy” stuff - well we had to add the free cucumber to it to make it easier to eat! I think it was about £2 in total!

This was our view as we ate

It was actually a beauty clinic but the sign just tickled me!

I think we wandered back to the hotel around 10pm after first going to Haagen Daz for an ice cream and walking out as they were £4 each and then going to the most miserable people in a stall in the shopping centre. Still I was desperate for something cold so we just got one and moved on.

Couple of random photos from the hotel lobby today

Early to bed tonight as we have a VERY early start tomorrow! And what a day it was...

Ha ha - love the sign! It's funny how we notice these things that mean totally different things to us.

We loved the night markets in Bangkok - not sure what it is about me but I seemed to get hassled more than DH! We went to one in Patpong one night (I know we should have known but it was fun!), and I was offered a 'man, woman, dog (!) or other animal' - yikes! It really was an eye opener... I don't think I look that odd but perhaps I do!?

ETA - that flower display is beautiful!
