Haven't stayed in the MB but have visited several times ~ I personally wouldn't recommend it for a first time trip although it has a great pool area and is a lovely hotel it is at the south end of the strip and like said above it is nearly 2 miles from there to caesars which is centre strip (I know as I used to run there and back most mornings on our last trip!) used to take me just under 15 mins one way so the previous poster who could walk in 5 must have been going some!

I feel that you will spend alot of your time getting to and from your hotel.

There are some amazing room rates around at the mo for most of the hotels ~ they keep emailing me which is a little depressing as we're not going back til 2011!

Hope you have a great time and be prepared its another addictive place ~ I love orlando but vegas is my "home"

We have stayed at the MB and loved it, the pool are is fantastic, DD's had great time! We actually liked the fact that is was at the end of the strip, didn't really fancy being stuck in the middle! We're going back in Januray and can't wait! X.X

We will be going 24th Aug - 31Aug this year :-)

Ive been looking at booking the signature at the MGM for 4 nights and 3 nights at Mandalay Bay.

Can get the Signature for £277 for 4 nights with hotels.com

Was thinking can discover everything at the strip in first 4 days and use MGM Grand pools, then when staying at MB can do Canyon trip and use thier pool to relax before flight home.

What you all think?

Thanks for all your responses so far really helpful!

The evening buffet is the best. I would stay here above any other hotels in vegas

Crikey! you must enter the Olympic Games for speed walking if you can get to central strip from the Mandalay Bay in less than 5 minutes! , it took us at least 5 minutes to walk out of the Mandalay Bay!
