The Mirage has an amazing swimming pool. The MGM Grand was a great hotel, huge, so many food choices. But haven't tried the swimming pool, I was there for work so no time.

Honestly, if you pick pretty much any hotel on the strip anywhere between Mandalay Bay and Encore, it will be good. There's only 1 or 2 I wouldn't stay in (e.g. Excalibur) but there's nothing wrong with them as such. And some are actually very nice but I don't personally like - Venetian is a prime example of this.
I am a Vdara fan, it's nice to escape the casinos at the end of the day. And you can typically get a suite (the Vdara suite is brilliant value) for the same price as a room in a similarly rated casino property. The pool isn't the greatest when compared to other properties though. Keep in mind that MGM (who own MB) now charges for parking, so you'll need to factor that in to your costs. I think some of the other casino operators are starting to follow suit, but I don't drive so haven't looked into it much. |

Yeah I think I read that most of them are charging now, just add it on to the cost of the holiday - nothing can be done about that, we're doing a road trip!

There are still places to park for free on the strip... Tropicana, Treasure Island, Venetian/Palazzo (well its valet but only a few dollars), Stratosphere, Miracle Mile shops , Fashion Show Mall.. and The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay (so you could park there for the Shark Reef etc)..SLS and Circus Circus self park, Shops at Crystals.
So its very possible to not to have to pay for parking if you don't want to, there is some free parking in each area of the strip. |

We only took the car to the outlets and walked everywhere else. My tip, let fashion go and make sure you have comfy walking shoes on your feet, you will walk miles!

I personally dont think age has so much to do with it. To a certain extent more hotels are for a younger crowd, but think price range is more important, and location.
Have you stayed in NYNY yet because I thought it was Luxor you stayed at... might be me being forgetful though Edited at 08:00 PM. |

I could remember recommending NYNY to you last time and sending you those pictures of the NFI bar prices there, so thought you didnt stay there! Dont think you will find much difference in the flight. Maybe an hour? Only thing I have found is trying to please so many people all at once with 6 couples can be hard, unless you all just do your own thing and meet up later. NYNY will be more fun than Luxor and a better location.
