Vegas
Hi, just booked vegas for next march. Has anyone stayed in the Bellagio before? Last time we were there, we stayed at the Luxor which we thought was too far down the strip so hopefully we'll find the bellagio better situated!

Can't really comment on The Bellagio (but it's the one Vegas hotel that rarely has discounted rooms - I guess that's a reflection on its popularity?) but have a read of the sticky at the top of this forum:
http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=249670 which should give you some ideas, if you've not read it before?

Hiya, I came back from the Bellagio a week ago, had another top stay.
I have stayed in both the main building and the spa tower, both overlooking the lake (by giving a $20 dollar tip and asking nicely for a fountain view). I love the Bellagio, the rooms are lovely and clean, gorgeously comfy beds and well soundproofed, public areas are always spotless. The pool area is lovely to lounge around and would recommend the pool cafe for an afternoon ice cream sundae. Rooms have the fountain music on the tv, its great for an hour watching the different fountain songs and also people watching along the strip. Room service is not bad for the money, and lovely options and they wheel in your table fully set up. Have a cake at the Jean Phillippe Patisserie, and get to the conservatory early in the morning for less crowds for taking photos. Ooh, I wish I was there now!

Well the Bellagio is more centrally located but it depends on which part of the Strip you spend the most time around. For me personally, I love the area around Tropicana which has the MGM, Excalibur, Luxor, NYNY and Mandalay Bay and always tend to stay there (never stayed in the Mandalay Bay though). Other people favour mid-strip, but in truth its all down to personal opinion.
As Diamonddog has mentioned, the Bellagio is hugely popular and it does look stunning both from the outside and when you get in the property. I am sure you will love it, it will certainly be a big step up from the Luxor, although I do still like the quirkiness of the Pyramid rooms in that particular hotel. Personally, I have no real issues with any of the hotels location on the strip except for maybe the Stratosphere which is definitely out on it's own a little. With Vegas, as I'm sure you are aware, you have to be prepared for a lot of walking... |

Just curious. Is this the hotel that is for adults only?

Haven't stayed at the Bellagio but at the Paris which is opposite. We had a great view of the fountains which are amazing. We found the location spot on! Don't forget the buffets, wonderful

When it fiirst opened, kids were not allowed in the casino areas. Or was it strollers not allowed? I think that is more lax now - it was under Steve Wynn that rule was implemented (and he now has a similar ruling at Wynn & Encore).
One thing not to miss at Bellagio is the Conservatory area - absolutely beautiful.

Have stayed at the Bellagio, and although a beautiful hotel, I found the service very average for a 4/5 star hotel. Couldn't fault the room, we had a fountain view, but just felt slightly underwelmed by the experience.
The Signature however is a totally different story. First class service from the minute you pull up at the gate house to the minute you leave. Greeted by name, nothing is ever too much trouble, staff actually WANT to talk to you! Fabulous place, going back in January! x
