West Coast road trip soon
In about 7 weeks we're off on a longish West Coast trip so I thought I'd see if anyone had any hints for us
Itinerary is: Shuttle from Manchester to Heathrow 1 night at the Crowne Plaza Fly from Heathrow - Virgin Atlantic to Los Angeles for 2 nights at the Sheraton Anaheim to visit Disneyland 1 night in Palm Springs at the Rancho Las Palmas 1 night at the Nautical Inn Lake Havasu 1 night at the Grand Hotel, Grand Canyon 3 nights at the Mirage Las Vegas - our 29th Wedding Anniversary going to Cirque Soleil 'Love' 2 nights at the Yosemite View Lodge 1 night at the Delta King Hotel - riverboat in Sacramento 3 nights at the Holday In San Francisco 2 nights at the Hyatt Monterey Beach 1 night in Pismo Beach, Cottage by the Sea 1 night at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach Flying back Los Angeles to Heathrow - shuttle to Manchester Any one been to any of the hotels or any 'must do' hints would be very welcome. DH has been before around California but that was a very long time ago (think late 60's) so we're a little more mature now. Will try to do a trip report when we get home |

Looks like you will learn the ancient art of living out of a suitcase with that trip! Are you sharing the driving? We are doing a similar trip in August (not so many stops though) and I can't wait.

Were going early July. We did a long New England and New York trip last year so are used to the suitcase bit and are able to travel light. It's all part of the fun. I think in previous years we've seen bits of Florida most Floridians have never seen.

Am I so jealous. I'd love to do this type of holiday one day. Take loads of pics and share them with us on your return. It all sounds good BTW

Your trip sounds as hectic as ours, can't wait and I bet you can't too! We're looking forward to travelling fairly light and living out of our suitcases. Can't give you any tips really as this is our first time, but we are staying in some of the same towns/cities I see.
