Bus tours of Grand Canyon South Rim

I'm thinking maybe we should do this, rather than drive (as I originally planned to do) to the South Rim.

Papillon tours are coming out best at $292 (3 adults, 1 child) in July. Tour takes around 15 hours in total. Stops briefly at Hoover Dam, Mather Point, and Bright Angel Lodge.

Is this the best deal I'm going to get, or is there another firm I should be looking at?

Also, is it a good idea to do it this way, or could I drive and save a shedload of money (we have a Toyota Rav 4)?

I prefer the flights out as the coach trip is so long, boring and hot.
We did the flights with helecoper and boat ride followed by buffet lunch tour and that was great.

The south rim is supposed to be the best I am told and that looks like a decent price for all of you.I wouldn't want to drive it as you won't be looking at everything and the cost would probably be alot less but alot more grief.I doon't fancy the coach despite the considerable price difference , 15 hours is a long time with my 3 children in a coach !

A lot depends on the weather, when we went it was quite windy. My MIL & FIL went in a small aircraft to the Grand Canyon when it was bad weather - it was like a yo-yo all the way, we didn't fancy that so took a relaxing coach
