Vegas does have a very firm line on bars and under 21s, but then so does everywhere that is purely a "bar" in the US, i.e. an adults-only drinking establishment.

Maybe it's more noticeable in Vegas due to the fact that large parts of most hotels are casinos, which are also no under 21 areas (other than passing through without stopping).

The thing we like to do is have a cocktail or beer (or two) by the pool. Plenty of Vegas hotels have poolside service and/or pool bars. We particularly enjoyed the excellent service at the Four Seasons (at a price - ouch!), but others such as the MGM also advertise pool service.

Nothing better than a frozen margarita on a lounger in the blazing sun (freshly made please, none of that yucky stuff from the slushie machines). Meanwhile the kids are entertaining themselves in the pool.

Worth bearing in mind that resort hotels in other places tend to keep the pool open in to the evening as a means of extracting cash from you, whereas in Vegas they close them at around 6:00pm to get you in to the casino in the hope of extracting even more cash!

I've read on a couple of sites that you have to pay for sun loungers by the pool? Is this true or is it just the more luxurious cabanas?

I've never paid for a sun lounger in all my visits.

Yes the cabanas do come at a cost but I've never even bothered to find out how much.

Probably because we were the only people stupid enough to be out there, but I laid on one of the double loungers at Signature last week - wasn't charged! LOL But like I say, it was bloomin freezing out there and I was the only one sitting out there - the boys had a lovely time in the pool tho!

In the late 80s/early 90s you could not get a towel or a sun lounger without having it brought to you by a staff member. Really, I kid you not - it was THE LAW.

Trust me, if you did not tip for this, you were persona no grata - for the rest of your lives...
