We stayed at the signature last year and loved it. Preferred staying at Caesars just because of the mid strip location but I think that is because I suffered with my back on last years visit and found it hard work walking up the strip. Plenty of things for the kids to do. The youngest keeps asking when are we going back.
Have only been to freemont street during the day and felt safe. On our visit last year we thought the problem with hobo's had increased considerably as our previous 2 visits, once at the height of summer and once in November we hadn't noticed at all |

Last year was the worst i've ever seen it for the Homeless problem, they were literally everywhere, we walked into the lift outside the Fashion Show Mall one evening to be confronted by 1 sheltering in there. And a couple of times we noticed the Police rounding them up on the walkway near Ballys.
And going out past the Strat towards the Speedway there were loads on a big waste ground.. On the Sunday evening we drove through Downtown and there must have been 200+ queuing for what i assume is a soup kitchen type place. This year though there were far less , plenty down towards the Stratosphere but not so many on the main strip area. |

Arrived yesterday at hotel at 3pm. First impressions can't say I'm a fan yet, pools close at 6pm and every single guest in hotel got a bottle of beer in hand as they walk around. Bunny girls in lobby. Tried to go out for a pint of milk and defeated it felt such a challenge. Didn't help that we were taken to a total of 4 rooms and none were ready so we were really fed up and tired.
Off to explore a bit today so may feel differently later! |

Pools in Las Vegas are rarely open beyond 7 pm. I'm surprised you weren't aware of that. They want you in the casino, not by the pool.

I wasn't aware and staying in a non gaming hotel that supposedly is family friendly I was surprised.

Yeah I suppose I can see that now - Las Vegas is unlike virtually any other resort, I'm afraid. Although The Signature is a non gaming hotel, it is attached to the MGM (and partly owned by the MGMMirage Group) so that is still their main 'driver'. It's a fair point though. I hope your stay improves from now on.

Nope. Not growing on me. Tried to explore the strip and got so frustrated with how to get out of Cesears Palace having valet parked there I spent the day at Red Rock Canyon which was fab!

Tbh Ceasars is just about the worst hotel to navigate..i've been inside it probably 8 or 9 times and i still get confused lol..
I just think the layout is poor and lack of decent signs don't help. From the Signature i'd have thought it easier to walk through the MGM to explore that end of the strip.. (We do alot of walking the strip though tbh...i find it by far the best way to get around and see things.) Fashion Show Mall has good parking and that's good for exploring that end of the strip (Wynn,Venetian etc etc) Flamingo has easy enough parking and its easy to get out of there and out onto the center strip area (Bellagio,Ceasars,Miracle mile shops etc). Would maybe public transport be a better option for getting about the strip... even if you walked one way and got the bus /monorail /taxi back to your hotel? We always have a car in Vegas but its main use is for us getting out and about off the strip...we don't use it all that much on the strip. |
