Fab to see so many dibbers heading west next year
I'm getting impatient waiting on our flights getting released. We will probably be going at the end of June so still got a few months to wait yet Leaves plenty of time for the planning stages though |

We're planning on a West Coast trip next year, beginning of September.
San Francisco - 3 nights Yosemite - 2 nights Monterey - 1 night Cambria - 1 night Santa Barbara - 1 night Las Vegas - 4 nights Los Angeles - 4 nights That's our rough plan so far, want to get flights and our hotel in Yosemite booked up first

All sounds excellent, reading what everyone is planning!
We are doing NYC, Washington and Vegas this September, then for next September, we are thinking about staying at the Grand Californian (have stayed at the Floridian, so cant wait to see how it compares) for 4 nights, then 3 nights in downtown LA somewhere (done Hollywood before, and want somewhere different, perhaps near a beach?). Then we will either do SanFran again for 4 nights (or possibly San Diego, only done that once for 2 days - not sure if there is enough to see or do for 4 nights?) - - and then it is back to the Bellagio in Vegas again for a final 4 nights. The only trouble is we treated ourselves as a 'special' birthday last year to the Penthouse suite (AMAZING!), but once you have done it there is no going back - best start saving quick! Thanks all.

Yippie! I can join this thread now as I have just booked return flights to Los Angeles for me and ds for March 2015! Got bargain flights so now need to make sure the rest of the trip is as bargainous (?!) as possible too. Initial idea is to do:
1 night LAX airport hotel 4 nights Newport or Laguna Beach 4 nights San Diego - thinking Best Western Plus Island Palms 5 nights Anaheim - either HoJo or Candy Cane Inn Going to stick to South-Cal for this trip as I've already been to San Fran, Yosemite and LA before, and trying to take it easy as ds will be only just 4 when we go.

We are very tempted. Would be September next year. DH really wants to go to San Fransisco but not sure what else to do, dont want the whole trip to be a nomad trip, so maybe SF and Vegas or SF and LA. Tempted to do 4 or 5 nights SF, drive to Vegas via Yosemite. Ideally would like to only book the first couple of night and play the rest by ear so we can wing it. Not sure how busy September is.
