Only been once and stayed in The Palazzo, I'd highly recommend it.

Are are staying at the Desert Rose (tomorrow night!). One of the main reasons for picking the hotel was it didn't have any resort fee. This will be are first time in Vegas. I was shocked at how much hotel were charging for resort fees.

Resort fee's are a pain and i don't like them but i just factor them into the overall price now .
And i suppose it does depend on how important location is to you, for us now we've been so often we don't mind not being on the strip (i thought we would miss it but we didn't) but i know for my first few trips i would have wanted to be in the thick of things.

We've been to Vegas three times, our favourite is the Venetian, even the most basic standard room is a suite with two levels, a lounge area and three TVs! We go again in October but are trying the Cosmopolitan this time!

We are considering the Carriage House, it is located just off the Strip, they don't charge resort fees and are suite style accommodation.

The down side is that there will be building work during next year which is why the prices are quite good.

It's going into the mix.

My friend stopped at the Carriage House last year as its part of her timeshare group and she really liked it.

I saw some of her pics and it looked a lovely suite, very spacious and its a decent location.

Thanks for that. I've fancied it for a while but it has been a bit more expensive than other places but due to the building work the price has come down a lot.

I've had a few email exchanges so I have a better idea of how much work there'll be.

That is more than we paid for any of the places we stayed at

Vegas though - hotel price wise - is fully impacted by weekends and conventions. Don't know if anything is on when you're planning your stay?

NASCAR is on when i think LovesHolidays is there, but then i go for it every year and still pick up bargains so it can be done and generally it only bumps up the rate at the weekend though.

Oh dear! That's why I wrote what I wrote - it's irrelevant comparing prices in Vegas. It's wholly seasonal!
