No because we didn't have time , I did see it though and there's a couple of pics in day 1 of my trippie from this year .

It looks quite small ( smaller than PH's pool ) and looks very shaded to me , I can't see it get much sun due to where it is .

If I wanted to use the pool a lot I'm not sure I would choose the NY hotel .

We are staying in the Carriage House which is on E Harmon Ave so not far from the Signature Suites. It is the little building surrounded by high rise (not good for sunbathing ) not stayed before so will have another experience to post about when we get back - they are just going through the process of upgrading all their rooms so we should have a nice fresh room when we get there (hopefully)
We love the Signature too . Going for 7 nights next year with probably 2 rooms so not keen on the 2 x resort fee although I have seen it included on a couple of sites so this might be an option if the price is OK.

NYNY is renowned for having a pool that isn't large and is heavily shaded until the afternoon.

It's a familiar problem with Las Vegas pools - ideally you do better to have a pool on the east of the property (i.e. on the right hand side as you travel up The Strip from Mandalay Bay to Downtown) because those pools tend to catch more of the sun. The pools on the west of properties are in the shade of their own hotels!

Off the top of my head:

East pools are MGM Grand, Bally's, Flamingo, Harrahs (I think?), Vdara,

West pools are Planet Hollywood, Paris (well it's within the shadow of the hotel), Venetian/Palazzo, Mirage, Treasure Island, Caesars, Bellagio, Aria, Monte Carlo, NYNY, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay.

Oddly I've stayed at Tropicana and can't remember where that pool is...

I'm no expert, but I've visited Las Vegas 14 times since 1989 - if you want some advice, feel free to pm me!

The Tropicana pool goes under the walkway between the two towers and then sort of either side of the walkway and part of it is actually inside.

Its quite open though and seems to get the sun for most of the day, it is also the only pool we've used that's been heated.

$50 a night in resort fee's would be more than enough to put me off stopping there . I know if you need 2 rooms it can't be helped but i'd be thinking what a waste of money.

Never stayed at the strat but would not like to stay at that end of the strip, quite dingy and the hotel itself is quite dated. I have stayed at the mgm grand and would absolutely go back in a min... also stayed at the excalibur and whilst its not quite the mgm grand the location is excellent, inside the hotel itself much nicer than the strat, rooms are fine...good luck, love vegas!

Horses for courses i guess, but i've been in the Excalibur and Strat many times in recent years and i think the Strat public area's are much nicer than the Excalibur.

The food court (which is why i visit) is better in the Excalibur but only since is renovation, before that it was dire.

Nice hotel and a world away from the likes of the Stratosphere, Excalibur and the other older properties but then it should be given it costs alot more per night.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay there :-)

We stayed at the Strat just over 2 weeks ago, room we had was lovely and clean. Casino carpet though reminded me of some of the pubs I used to visit when I was home in Liverpool . iHop next to the Strat did a great breakfast on the 1st morning, buffett in the strat was ok as well
