If money no object I would opt for the Venitian, or Ceasers palace.
Pirate show disappeared last year , the ships are still there as part of the water feature, but it went away to make way for yet another Walgreens and a shopping mall which opens soon.

Have stayed at New York New York, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, MGM Signature & MGM Grand.

Loved them all but had the most fun at The MGM Grand, such a great vibe and really comes alive at the weekend.

We had the misfortune of staying at Sahara for one night but I would not recommend it, it was filthy and noisy.
Once you have booked your hotel if you send them an email explaining you are on honeymoon you will most likely receive an upgrade. The staff at the Riviera saw that my passport was in my maiden name and assumed we were on honeymoon so gave us a huge suite (we weren't, I just hadn't got round to changing my passport)
Riviera closed last month and will shortly be demolished to make way for a extension to the convention centre.
We went in there 2 years ago and omg what a dump, it was seriously run down in there and I don't think the rooms have been touched in years so its hardly surprising its been closed down.

Sahara also closed in April 2011.. I went in a few weeks beforehand and there were about 10 people in the casino... its been totally renovated and rebranded at the SLS, but its struggling because that end of the strip is so quiet.

Excalibur.. was ok but don't like it now
Flamingo 3 times most recently last year.. it needs a huge refurb
Tropicana twice... loved it will go back
Planet Hollywood really nice would go back
NYNY nice but some of the smallest hotel rooms in Vegas, would stay there again
South Point stayed there twice off back next year.

I don't like the Luxor at all...we did book to stay there a few years ago but I'm glad we changed to the Tropicana.

I don't think the "fun" aspect matters much really most people don't spend much time in the actual hotel they stay in , we mostly shower and sleep and then have the odd afternoon by the pool.

But my kids do prefer the big hotels.
Well we are both big kids so I imagine we would be like your children & love the bigger hotels also

& fun to us would be large hotels, lots of shops, restaurants, entertainment/shows, maybe a roller coaster or 2, lots of pools with entertainment (but also a quietter pool area for chill days)

& WOW ! You have been to a lot of hotels! Out of all of them which would you choose if you could only pick one?

Stayed at The Cosmo last year for DD's wedding. It would not have been my choice for my age as it did look like somewhere for the younger generation My colleagues 24 year old is just back from Vegas, stayed at The Bellagio but wished she had stayed at the Cosmo.

My DD and her friend spent 4 days last week in Vegas, travelling from Vancouver, they stayed at The 'Harrah' but by seeing her snapchats, and FB, they spent every night at a pool party that were held in all the big hotels!

It looked pretty crazy and she said it was amazing like nothing she has ever seen before, getting back to their hotel each morning at 6.30am after parting all night! 😑

She is 23yrs old so not sure if that's the sort of thing you are looking for, but it sure did look like fun,! She did say that all the big hotels have these parties every night? Lots of promoter's trying to get them in through the door.

Yeah I have heard about honeymoon upgrades, it's definitely something we will look at trying to get once we have booked

P.s. Good job getting your upgrade, I bet you loved that

Well the only hotels with the coasters is Nyny and Stratosphere.. but you don't have to stay in the hotel to use them.
And the pool at NyNy is tiny and shaded by the big buildings not fun by any means.
Pools don't really have entertainment other than parties in the summer and the occassional DJ.. its not like European pools..

Different hotels have different shows, but again you don't need to stay there to attend the shows, they all cost money and even if you stop at that hotel the admission price would be the same.

Some have shopping mall's attached Planet Hollywood has the Miracle Mile Mall, Caesars the Forum shops, Venetian has shops.

We go back to the South Point now because its 4* but cheap (off strip) resort fee is only $14 per night where as strip hotels can be around $30 per night ..

Everyone will have their favourite hotel..

What time of year are you going?

Haha I'm not sure we would be getting back at 06:30, a little to late for us but it does sound fun & I think we'll definitely be going to a few of the parties.

We've stayed at the Signature, Venetian, Vdara, Mandalay Bay (well: THEHotel which is at MB, or was)

My favourite by a mile was the Venetian. There was such a lot to do there, great location, big suite, loads of dining options, clubs and shops. We got it through Hotwire for a song. IIRC $80/night, but that didn't include a Friday or Saturday.
