If you mean for this year, I wouldn't choose that weekend. It's the Inaugural half Marathon at DLP. Prices are jacked way up and it will be heaving with thousands of runners (my husband being one of them). I'd plan for the following weekend if you could. Most of the Americans are are arriving the week before the event (5k on Sat 24, and 1/2 marathon on Sun 25), so the week after should be better.

Ah, re-reading yes, I see that, my bad. Just would have hated to see someone taking a last minute trip and ending up on that crazy busy weekend. Can you tell I have those dates on my brain!?

We are hoping for a quick trip next year to use the APs we've bought for the upcoming trip, and celebrate the 25th anniversary.

Feeling good about our decision today as we can bow say 'this time next year...'!

Also doing Walk All Over Cancer at the moment so I have to do 10,000 steps a day. Hope this is the start of me getting fitter for next trip. I hate squeezing through the turnstiles!

Did you phone Eurostar? Could they change your tickets?

Haven't been yet. I want to go to their office after work one day, as the phone line is expensive and they charge £10 for changes on the phone on top of the £30 fee. As the tickets only cost £36 in the first place, I would be out of pocket.

If we could all afford the same rooms, there'd only be one category of hotel there. However, I don't judge other people's choices or budgets, or even what they spend their hard "earned cash on . At the end of the day, we are all off to the same place.
I agree and after I'd posted what I said I it sounded pretty horrible so went back into it to delete it. The system wouldn't let me delete the actual post so I deleted everything I'd written and wrote the word "deleted" and then saved it. I then went off the forum then back onto it to see if my change had taken effect. It has for me - it says "Deleted" but it sounds like what I originally wrote is still on there for other people.

Your post is deleted but it was quoted in the next post before you deleted, so it can still be seen.

No harm done IMO. SL is often the top of many people's budget, mine included, but even staying at the DLH every year would cost less than many people on here spend on going to Florida every year.
