I’m Scottish but I’m ashamed to admit I’ve not been to any of the islands. As some of you have posted the ferry trips don’t take long but do you need to take a car or if you go on foot are you a bit stranded when you arrive even if it’s day trip?

If you went to Arran the ferry takes you into Brodick, you can walk, nice walk if you are fit to arran aromatics , cheese shop, Brodick castle (National trust) nice beach also , that would be a nice day trip
Taking the Car now isn’t too expensive since they introduced the new mileage charges , if you took the car there is 2 distilleries , get nice lunch there
