Very Serious Dibber

I've chosen the yes I want to continue option. This trip is for dh 50th to see galaxys edge, the total off will be 1249 for 16 nights, at the end of the holiday last summer we had over 100 credits left so I'm happy that this will cover most if not all our food.
If park hours remain the same we will almost certainly have a main meal off site of an evening anyway, we might even finally get to try the cheesecake factory! I'm ok not park hopping as long as I can get into a park I'll be happy, again reduced hours I think will make a difference to how I feel about this. So we've said yes but will look again at this closer to the time and keep our Universal booking and decide once we've been able to book parks. I do think this will go live in the next week, my gut says Monday but that's a complete guess. If we can't book parks we will drop Disney but im confident we will know this by the end of next week (just call me deluded😜 Our biggest debate is water parks, I am thinking about booking SeaWorld tickets for aquatica or sticking with a week at Universal with Volcano Bay. I'm not a big fan of water parks but the children and dh are, I think if it was a choice between galaxy's edge and a water park they would choose galaxy's edge. Also given they haven't announced CBR opening (where we are hopefully staying) I'm interested in seeing what happens there.

Excited about Disney
|
We are going to wait till we get more info regarding the Disney park. The loss of the dinning plan, EMH, FP is a blow as it was the reason to stay onsite as we normally stay in a villa but as others mentioned we need that holiday badly. Might still considered moving to a villa if necessary and just do Universal, DC, SW, BG, KSC for example.

Positive pants back on 🤪... after sleeping on it we are sticking with Disney for the time being. My children LOVE Disney and just aren’t really that excited about Universal. I’m going to get my back up plan booked today but fingers crossed 🤞 we will be back at Disney.
We are booked at CBR so interested to see what the plan is and whether they are moving us. Happy weekend peeps! 🥂🌈

I see the concern.
However, when you booked your holiday and bought your insurance policy no one knew about the pandemic (I’m assuming). There might be a term in your policy which has the practical effect of meaning you are under a duty to mitigate your loss. But at the moment there is no “loss” because the holiday might still go ahead. We are not in the position where the holiday has been cancelled and we’re just deciding to pay a balance in the knowledge we’ll be looking to recover from our insurers. Essentially, if you still choose to pay your balance your cover shouldnt be affected. A call to the insurers should confirm this.

Thanks and yes our annual cover was in place and we booked well before anyone even dreamt of this pandemic, thank goodness! 😊

Very sad to say this but we are going to have to leave the positivity party, I really hope you all have an amazing holiday and I will be following any trip reports with much envy when you all get back Hopefully 2021 will be our year, we are lucky enough to have been a couple of Times and I just wanted one last trip as a family, fingers crossed that flight prices are not too scary

I’ve always wondered how much we’d spend without the dining plan - hopefully this will be the time to find out 🤞 We’ve got a discount of £2,210 coming, so would give us plenty to play with.
As much as I love planning, I’m also looking forward to the freedom this could potentially bring!

Researching offsite restaurants this early in the morning is making me hungry for some ribs.
