Oh it does make sense. But I was comparing my thoughts re one of my brothers to the dentist child and the student child for the OP. Must be a comparible age gap.

A different situation but I have two adult sons who for various reasons are only just moving out just now , both have had their own places and moved back because of broken relationships neither are big earners but they have paid dig money since they started earning albeit given what some pay a token amount of £150 a month each ! I have been told many times that this is why they haven’t been in any hurry to go again 😂 while I love them with my life I am so looking forward to them going and hubby and me being able to please ourselves but also looking forward to reduced utility costs ! For the past year we have also had one of their girlfriends living with us and believe me the running costs for electricity and gas are huge and my grocery bill would choke a horse ! So op if you want my advice make sure you don’t charge a token amount and that you are not going to be out of pocket and also don’t make it too easy and comfortable for them as they just might stay longer than originally planned !
