What I wouldn’t like is a delivery at that time of night . I switch my phone off at 2100 as I hate late phone calls/texts. I think its bad form for neighbours to disturb me with a delivery that late and I would have a word; thankfully mine seem incredibly considerate on that score (but also good sound proofing probably means I wouldn’t even know )
Surely the OP booked her delivery for that time slot though ? It was a Tesco food delivery not a neighbour dropping off a parcel ... or did I misunderstand ?
To me it read as sexist as obviously the OP had booked that slot for that time so the problem was either the delivery person’s age (20’s is pretty common for Tesco delivery staff though) or her sex.
Guess if the OP is worried about their safety booking earlier slots would be less worrisome.

I personally wouldn’t want to do it as a lone female at night but then I’ve had a bad experience going into a home to walk someone’s dog
I've never had a food delivery driver come into my home, even pre-covid.

I wouldn't invite strangers into my home.unless absolutely necessary and take all deliveries at the door. Only exception would be heavy furniture deliveries that I couldn't handle.

I think that was MF point, to try and book a better time if neighbours are nearby so not to be disruptive for others.

Personally where I live a delivery after 7pm would go down like a lead balloon.

Agreed , I know they will (or would preCovid ) carry it to the kitchen but I always take delivery on the doorstep.

I’d rather later at night than really early morning on a weekend like my neighbours do

Not everyone works nine to five though , I sometimes take a late delivery slot for after work (if I’m finishing early , I’m dealing with customers phoning up til 11 pm most nights)

I can only ever really get a Flexi slot with Tesco for 7-11 pm or 6-10 pm obviously I would prefer a more specific earlier slot but I can never get one. They are supposed to give a one hour slot on the day but my experience is that they don't

My best friends daughter is only 20 and delivers for Tesco. I have to admit I was surprised when she started the job but she seems to enjoy it and can work round uni hours. She does the 6-11pm slot.

I wouldn’t class 10pm as that late. Certainly wouldn’t bother me if a neighbour had a shopping delivery at that time.
Would rather that than early in the morning.
People go out and come home from pubs later than that (in normal times) and can be louder than a delivery driver if they’ve had a few drinks 😆

Next time OP has the same delivery driver, she should ask her if she’s happy working that time. If the driver is happy doing it then no problem, as others have said she could be fitting it around other commitments.
