Auto Europe - Big Price Drops Today.
Another good day for prices. I have just managed to lower my August and November bookings.
Also I have a May booking with another 3rd party supplier. Today I will ditch that as A.E. is over £65 cheaper!

Sorry, never used them. Since 1976 I have only used
Alamo 95% Avis 4% Hertz and National 2% I would prefer Hertz to Budget for £20. If it was £50 then I would go with Budget.

Good morning MrT - are your bookings with Alamo or various?
I'm also curious about Budget, they are consistently the lowest at the moment. I've never used anyone other than Alamo/Hertz in my previous 15 or so visits, so I'm a bit nervous trying elsewhere. Edit - I think you've pretty much answered my questions with the post above Edited at 11:13 AM. |

I agree the 'unknown' takes some getting used to.
Alamo grabbed a whole swathe of business by the pick your own car option. That swung me away from the others. However I am somewhat frustrated with the lack of decent Standard SUV's with them lately. But money is the key in the end and I hunt the best deals. For example my Nov booking I could get for £16 less today but I have just bought late Oct flights as the price was too good to miss so ditched a Standard SUV for Nov and got a Full Size SUV for Oct instead for £40 more! Then I saved £8 for the August booking and the huge saving was for May but to get that I ditched the other Alamo supplier and paid in full with A.E. I show no loyalty!

Hi Juliemack
We use mainly Hertz or Avis but have had 3 cars from Budget. On each occasion the car was almost new with one having 196 miles on the clock. We had no problems and as Budget allow spouse to drive free it was an added bonus. The only problem I can see is that they don't do fast track and you will have to go to the desk to pick up your car. We did have one fairly long wait. Also Budget are owned by Avis.
