Best way to top up Adblue please?

When I bought my car in March they told me to bring it back in once a year for an Adblue top up and they charge around £50.

I'm sure I read on here a while ago that you can do it yourself for far less?

Can anyone give a quick idiots guide please? Is it as simple as buying a bottle and popping it in?

Im no expert, I just know what DH does for our car!

He buys the Adblue online

In our car you top it up next to where you put the fuel in. It’s under the fuel flap.
The cap needs unlocking with the wheel nut key for our car- don’t know if it’s the same for all vehicles

You can do it at some petrol stations via a pump or just buy a bottle of it from somewhere like Halfords or Amazon.
The garage sound like they are trying to rip youoff.
It should tell you in the owners manual what to do.
Our motorhome has an ad blue point next to the diesel filling point and we do it ourselves.

Our local bp garage has a adblue pump I topped ours up the other day. It was 69p per litre, only needed £5 and it was over 7 litres.

If there’s any filler hole then it’s as easy as topping up your screen wash.

I think you just open it up and pour it in. We have tons of adblue at work for our lorry so I just my husband to do it.

Buy a branded container of adblue with a spout as there are cheap imitations that can do harm to the emmisions reductant system on the car.

I just buy adblue from Halfords and use a funnel and the hose thing the container comes with to top it up. Mine is next to the fuel cap.

That reminds me my adblue warning came on yesterday so I need to remember to go and buy some.

I buy mine from Halfords. Think they only charge a tenner to add it but DH does it for me
