I think they might have gone by now, but was lucky enough to pick up LHR > LAX, one stop, for four of us (two adults, two kids), for £1,180. Booked through Lufthansa, flying United. Out on 16th August, returning 31st August (land at LHR 1st Sept).
Keep an eye out as competition may follow. Jack's Flight Club is ace for this sort of thing. |

Just looking at that myself. Not much availability for longer trips. Best I can see is...
3rd - 16th 3rd - 17th No good for us as we want three weeks, give or take. |

I’m still struggling to find any flights under £780 for Manchester to San Francisco next August... thought they might have come down in price in jan sales . Getting nervous now as we are tied to our dates

There are still pretty decent direct LHR - LAX Air New Zealand fares for the Summer holidays - working out at about £570pp, and ANZ include a checked bag as standard.
I think I'm going to just take those for our dates - 18/7 - 8/8 and be done with it. |

Don't forget BA fly direct to San Jose (just south of San Francisco) - reasonable fly drive's available mid to end of August.
(obvs make sure you book San Jose California, not San Jose Costa Rica! ) |
