I would strongly disagree with this. Looking at paying for meals we would usually enjoy on the DDP the TS cost comes out at $1200 alone! Then there are the snacks and QS. Some people don't spend what they pay for the DDP, but we definitely get our money's worth. I will admit though, that prior to the free DDP not becoming avaiable this year I was skeptical about how much value it is ... for us it is of very very good value!

We are the same, we really make use of the DDP and the last 2 trips we’ve kept a note of what every meal and snack would have cost us OOP and the DDP saved us ALOT of $$.
I’m quietly hoping they bring it back in time for our October/November trip next year 🤞🏻

We loved ddp as well but you do get way more food than you actually need. I spend my whole holiday absolutely stuffed and never at any time feel remotely hungry. And we do a good few 2TS which cuts down how many meals we have.
If we ate everything we wanted and enjoyed, oop it would tally up to less than the cost of the ddp for sure because we wouldn’t get the 4 qsdp between 4 of us. We don’t need that volume of food and drink at lunch time. We end up binning loads of massive drinks and fries or whatever. And we inevitably bring a bag full of snacks home with us that we were unable to use up. I love the whole not worrying about food but I acknowledge there is a lot of waste / unnecessary food and oop we’d spend less without missing out. |

MFras I'm not disputing your sums but here's the reasoning behind my post, the breakdown of the various elements (Done by the Unofficial Guide)it's a couple of years out of date but:
TS = $45 QS= $18 2 Snacks = $10 Cup =Dependent on how long your stay $1.50 Total = $74.50 Actual Cost $78.01 + Tax Now this was pre "alcohol" but not everyone wants that with every meal, additionally it's priced on a dessert with that TS meal, don't mind the occasional one but if I'm paying OOP it's going to be a starter & not a dessert, if I'm desperate for something sweet I'll use a snack credit. Now admittedly, buffet's are winners (not breakfasts) but equally every time you don't have Steak, they win- As an aside who knows if they were going to go down the line of Kona Cafe, where you got a steak on an empty plate, everything else was extra! So when the poster said about "dropping prices", I'm merely pointing out that if you have paid $78.01+Tax then you have already paid for it IYKWIM SD

Ours is still on our booking (paid DDP) for Oct 21 so hopefully we can keep it, we definitely find it worth having.

I completely see where you’re coming from. We often get a dessert just because it is included. However, as you mentioned the costs can add up especially with alcohol now 🥳 we easily spend $100+ on one TS meal for drinks, main and dessert. I didn’t realise how costly our food taste was 😱

Mine is still showing for May 2021 and the Walt Disney Travel Company have emailed confirming its still valid at present and I will be given an offer option if it is removed
Going to just sit tight for now- but accepting it will be cancelled |

No one knows. Simple answer- depends on whether it will cost or make them money. I do not think even they know yet. Will also depend on how long social distancing lasts in restaurants- with half capacity you want everyone paying top dollar.
