Visiting Grand Canyon from Las Vegas

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations of tour companies visiting the canyon from Las Vegas or should we just consider driving there ourselves?

Hi you can drive or take a flight out. Small plane or helicopter. You could consider driving out and stay the night which is a popular way to do it . A day trip is good but it is a long day.

We drove and stayed the night it gave us chance to spend time exploring all parts of the canyon and view both the sunset and sunrise. The drive let’s you explore part of Route 66 and visit some of the iconic stops on that route.

Thanks for reply, it would be lovely to see sunrise and sunset so perhaps we will have to factor in an overnight stay.

We also hired a car, drove and stayed at the south rim. It was incredible and I would definitely recommend it as the way to see it. I wrote about it in my 2012 trip report if you wanted to have a look at where we stopped ect.

Some tours from Vegas don’t go to Grand Canyon proper, they go to a bit called Grand Canyon West which isn’t the same as the Grand Canyon South Rim. I think the GC is well worth an overnight. Sunrise is totally worth it and I agree with the Route 66 recommendation.
