We just bought a city mini double for £25 on eBay it’s obviously second hand but use it with the view it’s less than hiring so if it breaks we won’t worry about it, we even have a single one we bought years ago for £30 and that’s now done 2 Disney trips and going strong.

Take one with you. Hiring one is just as expensive if not more than a second hand one. I'll be bringing one for my 4 year old twins but can bet my 8 year old will take his turn in there. We went to dlp last summer and he was in it when he got tired or just to get out of the sun for a bit x

Now I'd take a different approach. Parking, Fetching, and generally wrangling strollers is for me as much of a pain in the rear as they are a convenience. Our kids are 9 years apart, but both of them went a couple of months before their 4th birthdays. For both kids we had a stroller which we only really used in the evenings so they could sleep. It meant that at times when we didn't have the stroller with us we maybe had to carry them for a bit, but with strategic ice cream stops, 2 minutes rests on a bench, or sit down rides, we could manage any tiredness with no problems at all.
We also took the eldest at nearly 5 years old, and given she'd spent a fair bit of time the year before not in the stroller, we didn't bother taking a stroller, but we were prepared to carry her here and there and hired one for a couple of the longest park days. After that she didn't need one. I'd expect a normal healthy 7 yr old to not require a stroller, but I'm sure I could use the various attractions and bribes available to the 3yr old to convince them to come out of a buggy for a bit and teach them to share their buggy if I felt a 7yr old needed a rest.

Have you spoken to the 7 year old about using a pushchair?
If I’d have suggested to any of mine (I have six children all different and two with additional needs though fully mobile) to use a pushchair at that age there would have been much protesting and a huge no. We travel often to Orlando and have never needed a pushchair after the age of 4, admittedly we don’t do full days at the parks and for our Disney bit we always stay on site which allows for plenty of down time. But in spite of all that I think mine would just have been too embarrassed to be seen in a pushchair. Obviously you know what’s best for your child but if you haven’t already definitely have a chat with them they maybe horrified that you’d even suggest it. But if you decide to use one I would highly recommend Kingdom Strollers. Have a lovely holiday 😊

My daughter was 7 on our first trip and it didn't occur to me to hire a pushchair, the one we had at home had long gone by then. She did fine, in fact she coped better than her mum and dad with all the walking, so you might find your eldest is ok without.
